ROCHESTER - A Middleton teenage girl who was at first thought to have been possibly abducted late Saturday was found just hours later Sunday morning in a Rochester motel.

Rochester Police, who were assisted on scene by FBI agents and State Police, located the 16-year-old in the undisclosed motel and later questioned a 26-year-old person of interest in connection with the case but as of Sunday no charges had been brought.

Rochester Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Members of the Strafford County Attorney's Office were notified and provided legal support during the investigation, according to a press release from Middleton Police, who initially responded to the report of a possible abduction around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Police from Farmington and Milton provided investigative assistance.
Around 10:45 p.m. a press release was issued in regards to a Missing Juvenile and based on information received from the public and investigative resources, the female was located around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

She was transported to a local hospital for evaluation purposes which is standard procedure in these types of cases, the Middleton Press Release indicated.

Middleton Police noted they were unsure if any charges would be leveled in the case, but said Rochester Police are now the lead investigating agency since the girl was found there.
