DOVER - The Milton man accused of leaving the scene of a June motor vehicle crash that killed a homeless Rochester woman pleaded guilty on Monday in Strafford Superior Court in Dover.
Christopher Robinson, 44, of Applebee Road, Milton, was sentenced to 12 months in the county jail, with all but 14 days to be served under administrative house confinement, which means he will be confined to his domicile with exceptions for things like school, work, food shopping and medical issues.
Robinson began his 14 days of confinement at the Strafford County Jail on Wednesday.
According to his October indictment, Robinson "knew or should have known that he was involved in an accident while driving a vehicle which resulted in death to (Kimberly Lucier) and knowingly failed to immediately stop his vehicle at the scene of the accident."
Robinson turned himself into police on June 8, 2023, six days after the crash on Milton Road in Rochester in the vicinity of the Lilac Mall Hannaford.
Lucier was walking north along the Hannaford side of the road on June 2 around 10:20 p.m. when she was struck by Robinson's Ford F150 pickup, which was also headed north, according to police. She suffered a head injury and was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on June 5.
Lucier, 60, was a longtime homeless person in the city who was much beloved by the homeless community.
Robinson had remained free on $5,000 unsecured bond while awaiting possible trial this month.
Assistant County Attorney Joachim Barth did not return a Wednesday email asking for comment on the sentence.
The jury trial was originally scheduled to take place on July 8.
Robinson had faced up to seven years in jail on a felony B charge of Conduct after Accident, resulting in death or injury.

A makeshift shrine in remembrance of Lucier still stands just north of the main entrance to the Lilac Mall.
