Milton man indicted in sex assault on minor

MILTON - A Milton man has been indicted on four counts of felonious sexual assault.

Bryan Brown, 27, of 32 Brown Road, stands charged with the four counts in connection with various sexual acts with the victim, who at the time of the April 3 incident was just 15 years old.

The Class B felony applies in this case in light of the victim being 13 or older but under 16 with the age difference with the suspect being four years or more.

Each of the four counts is punishable by three and a half to seven years in state prison and a $4,000 fine.

The teenage victim was not a family member, Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss said after the arrest, and not from town.

Brown is currently free on $5,000 cash bail.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.

The Strafford County grand jury handed down the indictments in November. They were made public earlier this week.
