MILTON - Maurice Burnham, 81, of Milton, joined his partner for life Joanne Burnham on February 21, 2022.

Born in 1940 in Newburyport, Mass., Maurice attended the Wentworth Technical Institute and received his Civil Engineering degree. Maurice earned 21 years of service in the armed forces including 17 years of service as a Civil Engineer in the National Guard retiring in 1995 as a Senior Master Sergeant. Maurice ran his family-owned oil business Burnham Oil in West Newbury, a 3rd generation business, for over 20 years. After selling his oil business and moving to Milton, Maurice worked at the Navy Yard for 10 years as a Civil Engineer and retired from Irving Oil as a Master Oil Heating Technician.

Maurice spent his retirement taking pride building up the Burnham Ponderosa Homestead. He enjoyed researching and completing his family genealogy, coin collecting, watching episodes of Oak Island and spending time with family.

Maurice Burnham was the son of Vernon Burnham and Elizabeth Ladd Burnham, brother to Joyce Dixon and David Burnham. He is survived by his four children Glenn Burnham and his wife Cassandra, Jill Pelletier and her husband Brian, Keith Burnham and his wife Tracie, Gary Burnham and his wife Claudine. He was a loving grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
