Man found guilty of attempted murder for running over woman multiple times

DOVER - A Strafford man remains held on no bail at the county jail today after a jury found him guilty of attempted murder for running over a woman multiple times near his home on First Crown Point Road in 2022.
It took the jury less than a day to find Guy Leighton Sr., 73, guilty last Wednesday. He faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 2. Leighton was also found guilty of first-degree assault, which carries up to a 15-year sentence.
Leighton struck the woman, now 41, with his Toyota Highlander SUV repeatedly on Nov. 14, 2022, inflicting serious and long-term injuries.
