Man, 45, dies in motorcycle crash in York

YORK, Maine - A 45-year-old York man died on Sunday when his motorcycle crashed on Mountain Road in York.

The accident occurred around 1:05 p.m., prompting a response from York Police, York Ambulance and York Beach Rescue.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle crashed in the area of the intersection between Groundnut Hill and Clay Hill roads.

The victim was was transported to Portsmouth (NH) Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The name of the operator is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

The New Hampshire Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, while the crash remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by the York Police Department accident reconstructionist.
