ROCHESTER - Lula "Lu" Wright, 87, formerly of Crockett Street, Rochester, died peacefully with her family by her side, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Studley Home in Rochester after a period of failing health.

She was born on June 18, 1935, in Searsport, Maine, to Kenneth and Frances Walker. She was married to the love of her life, John Wright, for almost 60 years until his passing. They lived in Rochester for over 50 years. Lu worked in various shoe companies with the last one being at Encore Shoe Company in Rochester. In her later years she worked for the Rochester School's lunch program. In everything she did and everyone she met, her gentle strength, common sense, and ready smile came through. She loved walking around town with her husband, working in her yard, and gathering with friends and family. Over the last few years, she enjoyed her Studley Home "family", especially doing puzzles, playing Skip-Bo, and winning at Bingo!

Members of her family include her daughter Vicki O'Donnell and her husband Mike of Rochester, her grandchildren Brandon Wright of Caldwell, Idaho, Glenda Wardell of Denver, Colo., Michael O'Donnell Jr of Austin, Texas, and Bridget O'Donnell of Manchester. She also leaves her sister Marian Holmes of Belfast, Maine, a daughter-in law Brenda Wright of Denver, and many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband John Wright in 2010, her beloved son John Wright Jr. in 1991, her three brothers, Linwood, Chester, and Eugene Walker.
