ROCHESTER - Lucille (Fortier) Corson, 80, of Rochester, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 23, 2021.

Lucille was born in Somersworth on December 12, 1940, to Joseph and Rita Fortier. She graduated from Somersworth High School in 1959 and continued her education, graduating from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1962. Lucille began her nursing career at Wentworth Douglas Hospital and Riverside Rest Home in Dover. She was also a school nurse at Horne Street School in Dover and a summer camp nurse when her children were young. Lucille later pursued industrial nursing, having worked at Simplex and Erie Scientific for many years until moving to Etowah, NC. She retired from GE in Hendersonville, NC, in 2002. After her retirement, Lucille volunteered at Frisbie Hospital Cancer Center, the Salvation Army of Rochester, and Senior Companion.

In 1962, she married Andre Brunelle and was blessed with two beautiful daughters Lori and Lisa. In 1986, Lucille married Earl Carson and moved to Etowah, NC. They were married 23 years until his passing in 2009.

Lucille was very friendly and could strike up conversion with anyone. She was kind and quick-witted. Friends and family describe Lucille as compassionate, adventurous, kind, warm, and friendly.

Lucille enjoyed traveling, camping at River Ranch, Florida, and motorcycle riding. She and Earl toured the United States on their bike, visiting 47 states. Lucille also loved music. She played the piano and clarinet and was a choir member for many years. During family karaoke night, you could hear her joining in! She was a member of Grace Community Church of Rochester. She spent the last year in Hospice care but still enjoyed frequent car rides along the coast of NH, Maine, and the White Mountains. Her last wish was to catch the sunrise with her daughter at the beach, which they did together.

She is survived by daughter Lisa Howard and husband Everett of Rochester, Lori Ploch of Fletcher, NC, sister Elaine Lemieux of Tavares, Fl. grandchildren, Michelle Montville, Kelly Woodman, Aaron Howard, Jake Ploch, Amanda Salyers, and step-granddaughter Karen Poccia.

In addition, she also leaves behind her former spouse, Andre Brunelle, whom she was married to for 17 years but remained friends. Two stepsons: Bruce Corson and David Corson, a sister-in-law Lola Stemmermann, brother-in-law Donald Corson, and her Morneau stepbrothers Jimmy, Richard, Lenny, Steve, Pete, Eddie, and Louis.

She is predeceased by her husband Earl Corson, brother Robert (Bobby) Fortier, step-sister Laura Frenette, parents Joseph and Rita Fortier, and step-granddaughter Lynn Corson.
