DOVER - A local transient has been indicted in the overdose death of a Rochester man who died of fentanyl poisoning in August 2022.
Alyssa M. Kelley, 35, stands formally charged with acts prohibited death resulting, a Special Felony that could put her behind bars for life.
According to court documents, she "dispensed a quantity of the schedule II controlled drug fentanyl to Michael Duffy of Rochester, who subsequently ingested said controlled drug resulting in his death."
Duffy, 44, died on Aug. 3, 2022.
A talented cook who attended culinary school, Duffy leaves behind a son who lives in Massachusetts, according to his obituary.
Kelley is set to be arraigned in Strafford Superior Court a week from today.
The Strafford grand jury indictments were handed down on Dec. 14 and released to the public earlier this week.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been brought forward to go to trial.
