Library program delves into black heroes during War for Independence

ROCHESTER - The Rochester Public Library has announced it will host a program that explores the contributions of African Americans during the American Revolution.

Glenn Knoblock examines the history of African American soldiers' service during the war, including how and why they enlisted, their interaction with white soldiers, service on the battlefields, how they were perceived by the enemy and the officers under whom they served, and their treatment after the war.

The program is scheduled to take place in the Community Room on Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required. Call (603)332-1428 ext. 2 or visit the Main Desk to sign up.
