LEBANON - Hannaford and CLYNK are pleased to announce a fund-raising opportunity for Maine schools: The 3rd Annual Maine Recycles Championship.

Last year 60 schools shared a total of $29,000 in return fees and prizes.

This will be Lebanon Elementary's second year to participate in the CLYNK Recycling Championship contest. We are a tier two school having less than four hundred students in 4th and 5th grades. We will be competing against about 25 other small schools. Last year we were able to raise almost $1,000 and finished in seventh place.

Each tier offers three prizes:

Grand Prize: $2,000

Second Prize: $1,000

Third Prize: $500

Plus we keep whatever we earn from the returned containers. This is another way that we can support the environment and teach the students about recycling as well.

The contest runs Feb 23 through April 20. Bags and tags can be picked up at Lebanon Elementary School. Tagged bags for Lebanon Elementary School can be dropped off at Hannafords or at LES. Money raised is used to help fund the fifth grade Ferry Beach trip in the spring.

For further information you may contact Pat McIntire at LES, 457-1126.
