ROCHESTER - Larry J. Cossette, 77, of Rochester, NH, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong resident of the area, Larry was known for his generous heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Larry had a lifelong passion for automobiles and took great pride in restoring and working on cars. He owned and operated the successful automotive body shop, Larry's Autobody, where his craftsmanship and honesty earned him the respect of many in the community.
Larry's joyful spirit and willingness to lend a hand were evident to all who knew him. He served in the National Guard and later gave back to his community as the State Representative for Ward 5, serving six years on the New Hampshire House Transportation Committee--a role he pursued with the encouragement and support of his daughter. He also worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Among his many interests, Larry enjoyed collecting cars and parts, attending swap meets, riding his Harley-Davidson, and listening to 1950s music. His favorite artists included Roy Orbison and ZZ Top.
Larry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Gale Cossette (Brown); her children, Sarah Stone of Farmington, NH, and Christopher Stone of North Carolina; his daughter, Stephanie Sassi of Rochester, NH; his son, Stephan Cossette of Seattle, WA; his granddaughter, Gianna Sassi of Farmington, NH; his brother, Bruce Cossette, and his wife, Joan, of Somersworth, NH; his nephew Brian Cossette, his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Jacob, Connor, and Dylan; and his nephew Michael Cossette, along with several nieces and nephews from Canada.
He was predeceased by his parents, Yvette (Forcier) Cossette and Noel Cossette, and his nephew, Gary Cossette.
