She was predeceased by her siblings Robert Benham, Patricia Clements, Joseph Benham Jr, Theresa Witham, and Susan Cole. There's a huge Yahtzee game going on in Heaven.

She worked as a barber and hair stylist locally and at PNSY. She was a member of the American legion post 7 Women's Auxiliary and started free veteran haircuts and carried it through to most of the shops she worked at. Gardening, spoiling the grandchildren, hosting a great party were a few of the things she loved. Above all good time with friends and family. She was a great cook always feeding anybody that was hungry, Joanie was the nicest person with a great smile and sparkling eyes. Everyone that knew her loved her.
