ROCHESTER - Jeremiah (Jerry) Minihan of Rochester died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday July 21, 2023.

Jerry was born and raised in Milton, Mass. He attended Boston College High School and the College of the Holy Cross. It was at a "mixer dance" with Newton College of the Sacred Heart during his time at Holy Cross that he met his beloved wife Margaret (Peggy) Sullivan, to whom he was married for 52 years until his passing last week.

After a few years living in Virginia, during which time the two had their first child Jeremiah Jr. (Jeremy) and Jerry received his master's degree from the University of Virginia, Jerry and Peggy settled down in Rochester. Here they had two more children Catherine and Brendon. Jerry worked for many years at Liberty Mutual in Dover and Portsmouth, before concluding his working years at Brown Brothers Harriman in Boston.

During his retired life, Jerry volunteered passionately with the Rochester Democrats; he was also a member of the Rochester Historic District Commission. He spent most of his free time writing, and had numerous short stories published in various periodicals throughout his retired years.

Jerry is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary, and his brother Thomas. He is survived by his wife Peggy of Rochester; his children Jeremy, Catherine, and Brendon; his grandchildren, whom he adored dearly, Rory, Finnegan (Beranger), and Cullen (Beranger); as well as his brother, William (Bill).
