ROCHESTER - Jeanne M. Sylvain, 96, died peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 14, 1928 in Gonic, Jeanne was the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Hebert) Tremblay.

Following graduation from St. Laurent in Canada in 1946, Jeanne went on to marry Paul Sylvain and they started their family. Together they raised five children. Throughout her life, Jeanne was a skilled crafter and enjoyed her time knitting and quilting. She also held a positon as a Lathe Operator at General Electric for several years.

Jeanne was also a woman of great faith and was an active member at Holy Rosary Church, holding a position in St. Ann's Sodality as well.

Along with her parents, Jeanne is preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Sylvain; son, Raymond Sylvain; brothers, Gerard (Hank) Tremblay, George (Biz) Tremblay; and sister, Flora Young.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Leo Sylvain and wife, Terry, of Manchester, George Sylvain and wife, Kay, of New Durham, Donald Sylvain of Somersworth, and Claire LaPointe of Manchester; daughter-in-law, Mary Sylvain of Dover; siblings, Roland Tremblay and wife, Anita of Farmington, and Lauretta Harnois of Rochester; grandchildren, Danielle D., Nicholas, Nathan, Matthew, Jacob, Phillip, Stephen, Danielle A., Pete, and Gina; and great-grandchildren, Bailey Rose, Caity, Gwen, Aaliyah, Benjamin, and Andrew; and several nieces and nephews.
