ROCHESTER - The Rochester school board and Interim Supt. Jared Fulgoni have agreed on a contract for him to be the next Superintendent of the Rochester School District, according to a statement released by the city today.
The hiring process was facilitated by the New England School Development Council to assist in the search for a new Superintendent of Schools.
As part of the search the council provided consultants to facilitate and support the search process. An 11-member screening committee, composed of members of the Rochester School Department, members of the School Board, and community stakeholders, was formed. Two meetings were held by the consultants to train and review the process with screening committee members, according to a release.
After screening 10 applicants, the screening committee agreed to interview six candidates, one of whom withdrew prior to being interviewed. The remaining five were interviewed and, subsequently, three finalists were moved forward. Before the finalists were publicly announced, one withdrew from consideration, leaving just two finalists to be considered by the School Board, leading to Fulgoni being chosen.
