James R. Veno, 67, died on July 2, 2022, at Wentworth Douglass Hospital with family by his side.

Born on Jan. 2, 1955, in Rochester the son of Samuel Raymond Veno, Yvonne Cecile (Beriault) Fife, and Milton Fife.

James worked most of his life in Heating and Cooling, working for various employers. He was very good at his job and took a lot of pride in his work.

James proudly served his country in the Navy.

He was a fan of nature and being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and landscaping his yard. He had a passion for landscaping and at one point he had his own landscaping business. He would go out every day and water all of his plants.

James enjoyed collecting coins. He was a huge fan of the New England Patriots, and also loved fast cars. He was a voracious reader and loved to read anything he could get his hands on. He especially loved to read Western books.

He loved old black and white westerns, and he also enjoyed watching Bonanza. One of his most memorable trips was when he went to Tucson, Ariz., and got to ride a horse.

James loved his family. He was an independent guy, but enjoyed time spent with the people he loved. He was caring by nature, and he liked to help others. He volunteered at My Friends Place, helping people in need.

He was predeceased by his father; Samuel Veno, as well as his sister; Jill Veno.

James is survived by his parents; Yvonne and Milton Fife, his son; Jason Michael Veno, his daughters; Melissa Ann Curran and her husband Michael Patrick Curran, and Rebecca Lynn Roberts, his brothers; Milton Fife, Darrell Fife, Barry Fife, and Brian Fife, his sister; Melanie Fife, his 5 grandchildren; Devin Kaufmann, Brenya Locke, Gretchen Curran, Ariel Veno, and Jason Veno II, as well many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
