To the editor:
Why are Russia and China conducting joint missions around Alaska?
China is flying aircraft around Taiwan, threatening to invade it.
The Chinese are telegraphing the United States not to intervene.
Would Russia aid China in an invasion of Taiwan?
If China were to invade Taiwan, it is likely that Russia would provide Beijing with military, economic or political assistance.
So then, why are Russia and China also holding joint exercises in U.S. airspace around Alaska?
What forces do we maintain there?
Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardsonis a merged US Air Force and Army base controlling a force of about 32,000 military members, civilians and family members.
Fort Wainwright, in Fairbanks has 5,500 soldiers, 8,500 family members, civilians and 600 contractors.
Looking at a map of Alaska, military members are scattered in over 70 coastal areas.
I believe the Russians and Chinese are telegraphing a message to the U.S. government there's a high probability that if Democrats win the presidency, they will take Alaska by force.
Russia wants it back.
Why?
In 1867 Alaska was a Russian territory. The United States paid $7 Million for this territory.
This land was considered a frozen wasteland. This purchase was called "Sewards Folly," after the Secretary of State William Seward, who negotiated the purchase.
Don't think for one minute they wouldn't destroy every inch of that state to recover every oil, gold etc., resource available.
The current United States government, under hopeless, fekless, shiftless leadership, is likely to sell the rest of us out for the equivalent of another, "30 Pieces of Silver," like modern day Judases.
We need a strong president to tell Russia and China, "stay away from my back door."
