Hospitals can begin elective procedures today; Rochester current case count at 7

CONCORD - State health officials announced 90 new positive test results for COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing to 2,518 the total number of cases diagnosed in New Hampshire.

Of those with complete information, there is one individual under the age of 18 and the rest are adults.

The new cases reside in Rockingham (32), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (13), Strafford (6), Merrimack (3), and Belknap (1) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (18) and Nashua (12). The county of residence is being determined for five new cases. Five new hospitalized cases were identified for a total of 282 (11%) of all state cases.

The state's DHHS office announced two additional deaths related to COVID-19: a Hillsborough County woman and a Rockingham County man, both 60 years of age or older.

Locally in cumulative case numbers, Dover remains in the 50+ range, while Rochester stands at 20-49, Somersworth and Barrington at 10-19, Farmington at 5-9 and Milton 1-4. Rochester had seven active cases being monitored as of Friday, according to EOC Chief Mark Klose.

Also today, New Hampshire hospitals will begin being able to perform elective surgeries and other non-COVID-19 related procedures. According to DHHS guidelines they will have to have completely segregated space for all things COVID related. Some hospitals that are not able to logistically provide such segregated space will refer COVID-related patients to a separate health care facility.

Frisbie Memorial Hospital officials were not immediately available to confirm their COVID-status under the new guidelines that become effective today.

Meanwhile in Maine, the number of confirmed cases rose to 1,185 on Sunday with a cumulative total of 183 hospitalizations and 57 deaths. Maine DHHS does not list cases by town.
