ROCHESTER - Gregory F. Froton Sr., 86, of Rochester, died peacefully on Monday, May 6 at the Hyder Family Hospice Home in Dover after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Lewiston, Maine, on Sept. 28, 1937, to Charles Froton and Maxine (Haines) Froton.

Greg graduated from St Dominic's High School in Lewiston in 1955. Greg received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine in 1973.

He proudly served in the Army from 1957 until 1959.

Greg was employed in the health care profession serving in executive positions at St. Mary's Hospital and Marcotte Nursing Home in Lewiston and as the Administrator/CEO of the Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee, retiring in 2005. After his retirement, he worked part-time for Servicelink of Strafford County as a Medicare Coordinator. He relished this job the most as he was able to educate and advise clients while using his knowledge, interpersonal skills, and his passion for French and Spanish.

Greg was a member of the NH Association of County Nursing Home Administrators and the Maine Healthcare Association. He was a former Parish Council and Finance Committee member of Holy Rosary in Rochester. He also served on the Supervisory Committee for the Holy Rosary Credit Union.

Greg was an avid workout enthusiast, beachgoer and a voracious reader.

Greg was predeceased by his parents along with his sister Colleen Poulin. His survivors include his wife Denise (Potter) Froton, his daughter Gina (Karl) Simon of Lanexa, Virginia, his son Gregory Froton Jr. of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and daughter Karen (William) Backman of Westbrook, Maine along with 3 grandchildren. His stepchildren Robert (Camy) Misiaszek Jr, Lawrence Misiaszek and Richard (Renee) Misiaszek along with 5 step grandchildren.
