SOMERSWORTH - George Patrakis,74, of West High Street, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at his home with his loving wife at his side.

George was born March 4, 1949, in Rochester to Aris and Visiliki (Colomoundous) Patrakis.

George was a lifelong resident of Somersworth. He served in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he became a master plumber, owning and operated his own plumbing business. George enjoyed the outdoors such as fishing and hunting in his younger years. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, making wine, canning and making pickled beets as well as making jellies, his raspberry jelly was everyone's favorite. He was a life member of the VFW in Somersworth. He will always be known as a devoted husband and father.

Members of his family include his wife Sue (Mowery) Patrakis of Somersworth, his sons, Peter Patrakis of Somersworth and Michael Patrakis of Texas, his brothers; Stan Patrakis of Rochester and Bill Patrakis of North Carolina, a sister, Joanne Curtiss of Texas, his grandchildren; Aaron, Hailey, Nico and Jace Patrakis and a great granddaughter, Olivia Patrakis.
