ROCHESTER - George "Chip" J. Rogers III, 81, died on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Frisbie Hospital surrounded by family. He was born on May 29, 1939 to George and Azelle Rogers of Farmington.
Chip graduated from Farmington HS in 1957, Plymouth State Teacher's College in 1962 and pursued his Master's Degree at the University of Michigan. He worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and retired in 1994. In 1965 he married Carlene Lafontaine and they raised their family in Rochester.
Chip is predeceased by his parents and brother. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carlene; his three daughters Kathleen Hoffman, Kimberly May, and Karyn Rogers; their spouses, Robert Hoffman and Shane May; and grandchildren Zachary May and his wife Rose, Damian May, Ryan Hoffman and Jessica Hoffman.
Chip was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and a loyal friend.
