EAST LEBANON - A family fun center with batting cages and miniature golf is expected to open by the beginning of June on property that formerly housed a lighthouse shop just east of Trains Quick Stop on Route 202.

Owner Jamie Scott of Rochester was hard at work today as a team of miniature golf course construction workers set concrete slabs for the 18-hole course.

Scott said there will be two rivers and a waterfall as part of the backdrop to the course.

“It’s going to be really nice,” he said while taking a break from working a backhoe.

The team of golf course construction workers, all from a South Carolina company, said they expected to be done with their portion of the work later this week or early next week.

Other crews will then put the finishing touches on the course.

Scott said this will give locals a good option to the Somersworth fun center. Salmon Falls River Family Camping Resort in South Lebanon also has miniature golf.

Scott said he will also have batting cages, an inside arcade complete with prizes for tickets won on machines and an ice cream shop.
