Former city man pleads guilty to fentanyl trafficking

DOVER - A Farmington man pleaded guilty to trafficking in fentanyl on Friday at Strafford County Superior Court, his third drug conviction in eight years.

Andrew Maniscalco, of 474 Main St., was sentenced to 1½ to 3-years in prison, deferred for three years during which time the state can impose or terminate the sentence as it sees fit. His conviction on a separate 2015 case will be served concurrently.

Maniscalco. 41, will also have to pay two $620 fines and participate in 150 hours of community service within two years.

In February 2017 he was arrested in Farmington for possession of more than five grams of fentanyl. He faced life in prison on the charge due to his conviction on drug possession charges in October 2015 in connection with his January 2015 arrest in Rochester where he formerly lived on Pleasant Street.

On Jan. 24, 2015, Maniscalco was arrested on heroin trafficking, and two family member were charged with possession after police, fire and EMS went to their home to check on a suspected heroin overdose.

Maniscalco was charged with five felony counts of possession, felony possession with intent to distribute, and being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, also a felony.

Maniscalso was also convicted on drug possession charges in 2010.

As part of Friday's sentence, he will have to participate in any counseling, treatment or education as ordered by state corrections officials.
