HAMPTON - A Florida motorcyclist was arrested on Sunday after State Police troopers clocked him going at speeds up to 171 mph.
A troopers initially spotted him at 5:15 p.m. going around 120 mph as he traveled eastbound on Route 101 in Exeter.
The trooper watched as the motorcycle accelerated to 160 mph, and alerted another trooper in Hampton to be on the lookout as it approached.
Once within view Trooper Seth Parker was able to able to obtain a speed recording of 171 mph before a successful traffic stop was initiated.
The motorcyclist, Christopher Unghire, 36, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., was placed under arrest and charged with reckless driving, reckless conduct, and aggravated driving while intoxicated. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled for arraignment in Hampton Circuit Court on June 1.
