Fire hydrant flushing begins end of Sept.

ROCHESTER - For approximately four weeks the Rochester Public Works Department will be flushing hydrants from 11 p.m. through 7 a.m. This will start on Sept. 29 and will continue through Oct. 24.

As a result of flushing, some slight discoloration may be noticed in your water. Any discoloration should clear up within a few hours. Customers are urged to check their water before bathing or doing laundry during this time. Customers may also experience low water pressure during this time.
