Expect traffic delays, water shutoffs during Central St. road work May 27-28

FARMINGTON - Central Street in Farmington will be closed on May 27 and May 28 due to work to be performed by the Water Department.

The area from 79 Central St. by Fernald Park to 34 Central St. by Spring Street will be open for all residents living in the work zone and will have access to their homes, according to a release from the town.

There will be absolutely no thru traffic by 58 Central St, however 79 to 58 Central St. can be accessed by utilizing Tappan Street while 58 to 39 Central St. can be accessed using Spring Street.

Traffic will be detoured down Spring Street to Route 11. Meanwhile, residents living from Orchard Farm Circle to Central Street Bridge need to plan on having an adequate water supply in case of prolonged water shutoff.

The work on both days is expected to be performed between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
