LEBANON - Longtime Republican state legislator Richard Nass of Acton will serve as moderator at this year’s Town Hearing on May 19.

Nass, who served in the state Senate from 2002-10, has considerable experience serving as town moderator, having done so several times in his hometown of Acton. While in the state Senate he represented several York County towns, including Lebanon.

Nass also served as a member of the Acton School Board from 1976-1991.

His wife, Joan Nass, represented Lebanon as the state representative for District 144 from 2004-12.

Lebanon Selectmen Chair Karen Gerrish said last week that she alone made the decision to invite Nass to be moderator, adding that former selectmen chair Robert Frizzell had alone decided that former town counsel Alan Shepard would serve in the position in previous years.

The Town Hearing begins at 7 p.m. at the Lebanon Elementary School.
