LEBANON, Maine - Eugene W. Whitehouse, 94, died peacefully on April 21, 2025, in Lebanon.

Born on April 18, 1931, Eugene proudly served his country in the Navy from 1948 until his honorable discharge in December 1950. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to working at the Quincy (Mass.) Naval Shipyard and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. In the 1970s, Eugene ventured into entrepreneurship by owning and operating a commercial painting business before transitioning to a commercial fishing business, which he managed until his retirement to North Carolina.

Eugene found great joy in fishing and cherished spending time with family and friends throughout his life.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Eugene (Michele), Donald, Kelly, Mark (Debra), and Robin (Julie); as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Phylis Whitehouse, and brother, Ralph Whitehouse.

Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Hildreth and Ralph Whitehouse; and his son, Ralph "Teddy" Whitehouse.
