DOVER - A local transient was arrested on Monday in connection with the robbery of a woman attempting to make a night deposit at a Dover bank.

Chelsea Gianotti-Bregy, 31, a transient who has recently been living in Dover and Somersworth, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, a felony. Police say the heist took place just after midnight on Sept. 4, when the woman who was robbed was making a night deposit at the TD Bank at 29 Weeks Lane in Dover.

According to police, she was threatened by a man carrying a silver object when she was attempting to put cash from a local business in the night deposit box. No one was injured in the robbery, but the man was able to flee with a quantity of cash.

Detectives from the Dover Police Department's Special Investigations Unit, aided by an anonymous tip that came in through Portsmouth Crimestoppers, were able to develop information that indicated Gianotti-Bregy planned the robbery with Bryce Lessard, 26, who carried it out.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both Gianotti-Bregy and Lessard.

Gianotti-Bregy was arrested at the Strafford County House of Correction, where she was being held on unrelated charges. She refused bail pending an arriagnment in Strafford County Superior Court.

Dover Police say they are aware of Lessard's current location and expect to arrest him in the near future. He is not considered to be at large.
