Dover sees second fatal drug overdose in four days

DOVER - Dover Police are investigating what is thought to be the city's second drug overdose death in four days.

Police say they were called to the home of 29-year-old Ainsley-Aude Croteau, of Spring Street, just before 8 a.m. on Saturday after she was found unresponsive. She was declared deceased by responding officers and paramedics.

While the cause and manner of death will ultimately be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, based on the investigation to date, Croteau's death appears to be drug related.

If in fact this death is due to a drug overdose, it is the 18^th in Dover this year.

Peter Smith, 47, of Dover, was found deceased on Dec. 9. His death was also thought to be drug related, according to police.

Dover had nine suspected drug related deaths in 2019.

The case is being investigated by the Dover Police Department's Special Investigations Unit. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Dover Police Department at 603-742-4646.
