Dover man arrested on charges he lied trying to join YDC class action suit

CONCORD - A Dover man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly making false reports to law enforcement while seeking to join a class action lawsuit regarding abuse at the former Youth Development Center.

This arrest is a result of the ongoing investigation into alleged widespread abuse at the center in the 1990s.

David A. Sweeney, 44, stands charged with four Class A misdemeanors, which carry a maximum stay of one year in the count jail apiece.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at Merrimack County Superior Court today.

The investigation into child abuse allegations occurring at YDC and YDSU remains active and ongoing.
