Diane (Nanie) C. Brisard ... longtime foster parent

ROCHESTER - Diane (Nanie) C. Brisard, 73, died Tuesday at her home, surrounded by her family, following a period of failing health.

Diane was born in Dover, N.H., on Nov. 26, 1940, daughter to Salvatore (Charlie) and Elizabeth (Cavanaugh) Cincotta. She was educated in Somersworth schools graduating from Somersworth High Class of 1958. Following the love of her family, Diane's was most passionate about caring for children. As a foster parent for the State of New Hampshire, Diane and her husband Sonny cared for hundreds of children for over 30 years.

Diane was predeceased by her sister Charlene Petravage. Survivors include her husband Edward (Sonny) Brisard of Rochester, son Todd Brisard, son Michael Jacques and his wife Kim, son Troy Brisard and his wife Cam, daughter Tammy Hickey and her husband Chris, son Travis Brisard and son Marc Brisard. She was Nanie to her 11 grandchildren: Joshua, Torey, Brian, Allie, Emily, Sophie, Abby, Molly, Mason, Aidan and Colton. A great-grandson to be Deklan. A sister Jane Tanguay and her husband Bob of Rochester.
