ROCHESTER - Rochester has a new Ward 1 Seat A City Councilor.
Earlier this month during a City Council Workshop, City Attorney Terence O'Rourke administered the oath of office to Debby Thompson, who was the city councilor elect after her recent win during the municipal election.
The seat became vacant after former City Councilor Patricia Turner resigned in a letter to Mayor Callaghan, citing family needs and work responsibilities
Following the certification of the November election, Thompson, the winning candidate for Ward 1/Seat A, was appointed to complete the remainder of Turner's current term and begin her own term following the City Council inauguration in January 2026.
