Death of 88-year-old Exeter woman ruled a homicide

EXETER - The death of an elderly Exeter woman found dead in her home on Sunday has been ruled a homicide.

Janet Risneill Kelsen, 88, was found dead in her home on Front Street.

Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg has determined that Kelsen's cause of death was blunt head trauma, and her manner of death was homicide, which is defined as the killing of one person by another.

The investigation into her death is active and ongoing, police say.
