The Cocheco River Management Plan Steering Committee is urging the pubic to participate in a kickoff workshop on Saturday at the Strafford Regional Planning Commission Office.

To help develop the Cocheco River Management Plan, the workshop provides an opportunity for community members to contribute their ideas, experiences, and insights about the river corridor. Public feedback gathered during this event will determine the focus of the plan.

The Steering Committee was formed to assist the Cocheco River Local Advisory Committee and the Strafford Regional Planning Commission in developing a management plan for the Cocheco River Corridor. The river, which flows through several New Hampshire communities, plays a vital role in the region's ecosystem and economy.

The meeting is expected to run from 10 a.m.- noon.

The Strafford Regional Planning Commission Office is located inside the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center, 150 Wakefield St. Participants are asked to use the entrance that faces Spaulding High School.
