FARMINGTON - On month Aug. 21, 2021, Clark Hackett died in the comfort of his home after a short illness.

He was born on Sept. 5, 1943 on Grove Street in the town of Farmington.

Clark was a resident of Farmington his entire life. Attended the Farmington School System until he left to join the Navy in 1961.

He received his basic training at The Great Lakes Naval Training Center. Upon graduating basic training, he was ordered to report aboard the aircraft carrier USS Wasp CVS-18 where he spent the next four years maintaining aviation refueling, pumps, filters, and gas stations along the flight deck.

Upon being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1964, Clark spent the next 10 years working in many different shoe factories around the state.

In 1974, he applied for a position with the Farmington Highway Department where he continued his employment until he retired in 2005. He saw many changes in the department over the next thirty-one years. His position went from truck driver laborer to Department Head, a position he maintained until his retirement.

Clark was a member of the Farmington Fire Department for 18 years and retired from service as a Lieutenant. He also donated many years to the 500 Boys Club, coaching The Cameron Sod Little League Baseball Team.

In the 90's Clark decided he wanted to learn to play guitar for something to do around the camp fire on a Saturday night. He started a musical group that called themselves The Back Street Country Pickers. Over the years he enjoyed and looked forward to playing for senior citizens Christmas parties and benefits for different groups in the Farmington area.

He leaves his wife Janet Hackett, son Ronald Hackett, and three stepdaughters, Sandra Dusek of Enfield, Sheri Joy of New Durham, and Sharon Brooks of Farmington. Three stepson-in-laws, Robert Joy of New Durham, Patrick Dusek of Enfield, and Valmore Brooks or Berwick Maine, and seven grandchildren, Ryan Dionne, Tabbitha Dionne, Aaron Dionne, Seth Joy, Trevor Joy and his fiancé Kaitlyn Richards, Zackary brooks and wife Stephanie Brooks, Drew Gerrish and husband Andrew Gerrish. Five great-grandchildren, Lowen Brooks, Oliver Brooks, Brayden Brooks, Jake Gerrish, and Luke Gerrish.

He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 60 and the VFW post in Farmington NH.
