City teens can duke it out with Dungeons and Dragons Saturday at RPL

ROCHESTER - The Teen Room at the Rochester Public Library on Monday announced its teen programming for February.

"These Teen programs are part of the library's ongoing efforts to engage teens, foster learning, and provide a welcoming space for information, studying, socializing, and reading," said Teen librarian Amy Lemelin. "The Teen Room is always evolving with our teens' needs in mind. We hope that teens will turn to the Library as a resource."

  • Saturday, February 3 (1:00 pm)
    Introduction to Dungeons and Dragons. Learn the basics of D&D under the expert tutelage of a seasoned Dungeon Master! Participants will be provided with all the necessary tools, including a free set of dice. Sign-up at the main desk in person or by phone is required.
  • Monday, February, 5 (6:00 pm)
    We will have an "Anti-Valentines party" complete with macabre cookie decorating and friendship bracelet making.
  • Wednesday, February 7 (12:00 pm)
    For early release, we will have a decoupage activity. Kids can create a unique work of art, (jar, vase, or lantern) using any myriad of supplies.
  • Thursday, February 29 (2:00 pm)
    Yoga for ages 8-18. Registration is required as well as a waiver signed.

The Teen Room is also available for teens to play games, complete puzzles, and create crafts after school.
