DOVER, N.H. - A Rochester man has been indicted in the beating of another man in January.

Germaine Cadogan, 26, of 23 Lafayette St., Apt. A, faces up to seven years in state prison after being charged with second degree assault in an altercation that occurred in Rochester on Jan. 10.

According to court papers, Cadogan "recklessly caused bodily injury" to the victim by striking him "in the face with his hand or hands causing facial fractures, head injuries and an orbital floor fracture."

Orbital floor fractures often cause double vision and loss of sensation of the cheek and upper gums due to nerve injury.

Cadogan also faces up to a $4,000 fine if convicted.

April's Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down a week ago and released on Tuesday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
