DOVER - A Rochester man serving a three and a half to seven years in the brutal sex assault of his girlfriend in 2017 was sentenced on Tuesday to an extra six months for violating a no-contact order with the victim.

Adam Joseph Brill, 41, of 9F Eastern Ave., pleaded guilty to the May 2, 2017, attack on March 27, 2018.

Brill faced 13 charges in all related to the assault, including violating a protection order by continuing to call the victim at least six times from Strafford County Jail in July and August of 2017.

The felony charge he pleaded guilty alleged he strangled the victim "by applying pressure to her throat" and attempted fellatio upon her, while the misdemeanor charges represent that he "rubbed his penis on her face," "grabbed her ears, grabbed her groin, grabbed her shirt" and "sprayed her with hairspray."

All of the charges beside the felony second degree assault were suspended for five years upon his release from state prison.

Assistant County Attorney Emily Garod said on Tuesday that she moved to impose some of the previously suspended time because Brill continued to call the victim from the prison and violating the no contact order.

"He received a 100-day sanction from the prison and an additional three months from the motion to impose, so he will serve an additional six-plus months on top of his original sentence from 2017," Garod said.
