SEABROOK -- A 31-year-old Rochester man is being held on preventative detention tonight after a high speed chase and crash on Sunday that seriously injured a woman who was a passenger in his vehicle.
Jordan Metherall, 31, of Rochester, is facing at least three felony charges including reckless conduct, disobeying an officer and conduct after an accident.
New Hampshire State Police got involved around 10:36 p.m. for reports of a 2020 Hyundai Accent speeding at more than 100 mph on Interstate 95 North, according to police. Troopers pursued the vehicle off Exit 1 in Seabrook, where it tried to elude police on secondary roads before colliding with another vehicle at the intersection of Routes 1 and 107.
Metherall fled the scene of the crash but was quickly taken into custody. His female passenger was seriously hurt, while the driver of the other vehicle, a 2012 Buick LaCrosse, was uninjured.
Metherall is being held on preventative detention pending an arraignment in Hampton District Court.
Each felony can draw up to a seven-year prison stint.
The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to contact Trooper Cameron Vetter at Cameron.S.Vetter@dos.nh.gov.
