ROCHESTER - A Rochester man was arrested on Thursday in a shooting that occurred on Summer Street in Rochester.
Police and Frisbie Rescue got involved around 10:20 p.m. as they responded to the area of 41-43 Summer St. for a report of several gun shots fired and a male victim on the ground. Upon arriving police located a 37-year-old male victim on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds.
Officers administered care to stop the bleeding until Fire and EMS personnel arrived on scene, according to a statement from Rochester Police. The male victim was then transported by Frisbie EMS to Frisbie Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he remains in serious condition, safety officials said on Friday.
As a result of the on-scene investigation officers arrested Jason Levesque, 44, of 41 Summer St. Rochester. He was was charged with attempted second degree murder (Class A Felony), second degree assault (Class B Felony), and reckless conduct (Class B Felony). Levesque was held in custody at the Strafford County Jail until his arraignment, which was scheduled for Friday in Rochester District Court.
The case remains an active investigation by the detective bureau of the Rochester Police Department.
