DOVER - A city man is accused in the pistol whipping of another in Rochester last December.
Michael P. Ruest, 41, of 105 Whitehouse Road, was indicted on the charges earlier this month. According to court documents, Ruest on Dec. 3 "did strike (the victim) with a pistol repeatedly placing (them) in danger of serious bodily injury" in that "a firearm in the manner used is known to be capable of producing death or serious bodily injury."
Ruest faces up to seven years in state prison if convicted.
The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down on Sept. 14 and released on Sept. 22.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to a grand jury to warrant moving forward to trial.
