ROCHESTER - Cecile C. McGrane, 94, died on May 22, 2023, at her son's home in Rochester surrounded by the love of her family. Born on Nov. 22, 1928, in Salem, Mass., Cecile was the daughter of Henry and Irene (Gagné) Lachance.

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Richard McGrane in 2015; her sisters, Lucienne Beauregard, Claire Perreault and brother, Roger Lachance.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Michael and his wife Susan (Wells) McGrane; daughter Linda McGrane and her husband Charles Barone; her granddaughter Jennifer Fleming and great-grandson Brock Fleming. Cecile is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her special niece, Janice Dean.

In her younger days, Cecile was renowned as an outstanding soprano in the churches surrounding Salem and Danvers, Mass. Richard and Cecile enjoyed numerous trips overseas along with travel within the United States in their RV. They enjoyed trips from Maine to Florida, to New Mexico and to Alaska stopping to visit friends and relatives and ntional parks along the way. Cecile was a very outgoing woman who made friends with everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
