Cause of fire that destroyed Baxter Lake camp under investigation

FARMINGTON - A camp structure on an island on Baxter Lake was leveled in a fast-moving blaze on Wednesday.

The fire was toned around 9 p.m. drawing firefighters from both Rochester and Farmington.

The pond lies within the boundaries of both Rochester and Farmington.

The camp, which was unoccupied at the time of the blaze, was destroyed.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by the state's Fire Marshal.
