To the editor:
In the Rochester Voice article dated Sept 29 it reads Catholic Charities got the message loud and clear. Why don't the powers that be get it too? Why was a large subsidized housing project even considered on land zoned industrial and designated as an Economic Revitalization Zone to boot.
Last Thursdays meeting at the Gonic School, thinly disguised as a listening session, only left more questions than answers and further proved that this was not the right spot for 152-180 (depending on what plan you believed) subsidized apartments.
Our good city appears to be under attack from elites who have little respect for its citizens (ergo the pitchforks) and are turning a deaf ear, to what we want. Thank goodness the citizens of Gonic did their homework and exposed what was really going on. Those in charge are pushing their agenda with misinformation, secrecy and manipulation. Better pay attention folks, as long as the people we have entrusted to govern us keep making these poor decisions without asking us what we think or want first, it will not get better. Decisions made in back rooms or behind closed doors, with no sunlight are injurious to our republic and can only lead to more problems like the Brickyard debacle.
