ROCHESTER - Catherine M. Hanson, 84, died on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Rochester Manor following a period of failing health.

Born July 28, 1939, in Cambridge, Mass., she was the daughter of Wilfred and Mary (O'Connor) Carter.

Cathy was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She worked as a switchboard operator for Frisbie Memorial Hospital & Curtis 1000.

Members of her family include Mark Hanson and wife Lindy of Rochester, Steven Hanson and wife Mary Jo of Errol and Mary Beth Hertel and her boyfriend Gerry Hammer of Tuftonboro; her grandchildren Kerianne, Casey, Meghan, Christie, Carter, Cooper, Holly, Jeff, Michael, Joe, Nicholas, Alyssa, Hannah and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert Hanson in 2013 and two brothers Frederick and Eugene Carter.

Cathy was one of the "neighborhood Moms" that always had an open door for the other Moms and All the kids. Many cups of coffee, Apple Brownies, Blueberry muffins, Blueberry Cake, Banana bread And of course her Chocolate Chip Cookies were shared in her kitchen. She was always cooking for anyone that needed support. You always had to ask her "Are those muffins staying or going?" She was committed to her family & friends. They were everything to her.
