ROCHESTER - Carla Jane Knight, 85, of Rochester, died peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, in Rochester, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 29, 1939, in Rochester, Carla was the daughter of Carlton Gosselin and Viola (Chase) Williams. Carla dedicated her life to caring for others as a compassionate nurse's aide for the Rochester Manor, bringing comfort and dignity to those in need. Carla also worked for many years at Colby Footwear running several different departments. In her free time, Carla loved spending time outdoors, whether that be fishing. camping, gardening or just sitting in her yard bird watching. Indoors she enjoyed reading, puzzles, and knitting. Most of all Carla cherished the time she spent with her family.

Carla is survived by her five daughters: Barbara Varney and husband Alex of Gonic; Cathy Howard and wife Linda of Barrington; Deborah Howard of Rochester; Ellen Stahl and husband Jon of Milton; and Frances Welch of Rochester. She is also survived by her siblings: Carolyn McKenna & her husband Raymond of Texas; Donna Sanger and her husband James of Barrington; Sandra Sampson of Northwood; Anne Emerson and her husband Charles of Maine, and Mark Mains of Washington, along with 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Carla is predeceased by her siblings, Lois Snow, Carlton Gosselin Jr, Kenneth Gosselin, Lawrence Gosselin, Sonny Mains, and Melanie Mains.
