CONCORD - A Brentwood woman is facing multiple charges after driving the wrong way on an interstate and failing to stop for State Troopers on Interstate 93 in the early morning hours on Sunday.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m. State Police dispatch began receiving reports of a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-93. The initial caller reported the vehicle was in Northfield. Additional callers provided updates as the vehicle continued traveling south.

Trooper Zachary Bilotta encountered the vehicle near Exit 17 in Concord, however, the driver failed to stop for his emergency lights and continued traveling south, according to a release from the state Dept. of Safety. As the vehicle reached just north of Exit 16, Sgt. Anthony Pratt, who was positioned in a crossover, successfully deployed a tire deflation device. While the vehicle's tires were deflating, the wrong-way driver continued south in the northbound lanes.

The vehicle eventually stopped just north of the Interstate 393 interchange after encountering an officer from the Concord Police Department. Bilotta was then able to make contact with the occupants of the vehicle.

After a roadside investigation, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Emily R. Lecuyer, 20, of Brentwood, was placed under arrest and charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence and disobeying an officer. Lecuyer was transported to the Troop D barracks where she was bailed and released on personal recognizance pending an arraignment in Concord District Court at a later date.

Anyone with who witnessed the vehicle traveling the wrong way, or who has further information that may assist in the investigation, is asked to contact Trooper Bilotta at Zachary.T.Bilotta@dos.nh.gov or (603) 223-4381.
