CONCORD - A fourth COVID-19 case has been identified at the Barrington Elementary School, the school district's superintendent told The Rochester Voice on Thursday.

"We found a fourth confirmed case following the three we found on Monday," said SAU #74 Supt. Daniel Moulis," The newest case is a staff member."

Barrington Elementary School went back to remote learning on Monday after officials learned of the first three infections.

Moulis said even with the fourth case now reported, in-school teaching will resume on Monday.

Moulis said while he could confirm the latest infection was found in a staff member, he could not identify the composition of the first three due to confidentiality concerns.

Moulis assured parents that the staff member just identified as having the virus will be quarantined and monitored under DHHS guidelines.

In Durham, UNH COVID cases stayed level on Thursday with 24 active cases and 60 recovered.

Driven by the UNH cases numbers, transmission level of the virus in Strafford County is now listed as "moderate," second on the three-tier for infection metrics.

Meanwhile, DHHS announced 35 new positive test results for COVID-19 statewide on Thursday, including three under 18 and six from Strafford County.

Two new hospitalized cases were identified for a current total of seven, while there were no new deaths from the virus.

Those being monitored currently number 2,000 up almost 300 from two weeks ago, largely due to exposures at UNH.

Meanwhile, local numbers include five in Barrington, 1- 4 in Rochester, Dover, Somersworth and Farmington and none in Milton or Strafford.
